Power Flushing
What is power flushing?
Power flushing is the process by which central heating systems are cleansed of corrosion and sludge. The objective is to restore your central heating to its optimum performance by removing any debris that has accumulated within the system. This is achieved with the aid of a power-flushing pump using water with the addition of powerful cleansing and mobilizing agents.
Why power flush?
Most radiators today are manufactured from pressed steel when fresh water and/or air get into the system it corrodes the inside of the radiator forming rust (iron oxide), commonly know as "Sludge".
Central heating systems piped correctly should never sludge up, understanding why is key to fixing the problem. Once sludge has accumulated in your system it may be necessary to power flush. We only advise our client that a power flush is required in extreme cases and investigate the reasons why the sludge has built up in the first place then fix the real problem. This usually involves minor modifications to your central heating pipework.
